The most common types of cookies are explained below:

1. Session cookies
   While you are active on a website, a session cookie is temporarily stored in your computer's memory. This cookie stores a session identifier, for example, to prevent you from having to log in again every time you change pages. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or expire once their session has automatically expired.
2. Persistent or log cookies
   A persistent or log cookie stores a file on your computer for the period specified in the expiration date. These cookies allow websites to remember your information and settings the next time you visit. This leads to faster and more convenient access, as you don't have to adjust your language settings again, for example. Once the expiration date has passed, the cookie is automatically deleted when you visit the website that created it.
3. First-party cookie
   A first-party cookie is a cookie set by us as the controller. Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe GmbH, which operates the website (see Legal Notice), is responsible for data processing. It processes the data collected by first-party cookies for its own purposes, regardless of whether it programmed the cookie itself or uses a cookie from another legal entity.
4. Third-party cookie
   A third-party cookie is a cookie set by a third party that is not Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe GmbH, for instance a service provider. Third-party cookies originate from various third-party domains, which can use the cookies flexibly to track user behaviour on our website and on third-party websites outside the third-party provider's website (especially for user-specific advertising). When you visit a website where the advertising network displays ads, the advertising on that website may place a third-party cookie on your device. The cookie typically stores the number of page visits and the length of your visit. If you revisit a website that also displays the advertiser's advertisement, the advertiser can recognise you using the cookie and, thanks to the information collected, offer you personalised advertising from their own repertoire.
